The Vancouver office of global law firm Dentons have appointed Richard Johnson as a partner in their Intellectual Property group.
Richard is a registered patent and trademark agent, and practices in all areas of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, designs, copyrights and trade secrets.

Richard has drafted and prosecuted patent applications covering a wide range of technology, with a focus on mechanical, electrical, electronic, optical and computer-related inventions.
He provides strategic counselling regarding enforcing infringement of intellectual property rights and defending against claims of infringement, conducts IP due diligence in the context of proposed mergers and acquisitions for both acquiring entities and those being acquired, and negotiates and drafts various types of agreements.
Richard received his Bachelors of Laws from the University of British Columbia, and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2001. He is also a registered patent and trademark agent in the United States and Canada.
